How to Compare Destination Wedding Packages in Dubai

Destination wedding setup in Dubai

A destination wedding package can make planning easier, but the word “package” does not mean the same thing at every hotel or planning company. Some quotations cover only the ceremony and meal. Others include several events, décor, production, rooms and guest logistics.

The best comparison starts with one shared brief and a complete written price.

Define the wedding before requesting packages

Send every venue or planner the same starting information:

  • preferred date or date range;
  • estimated guest count and room requirement;
  • number and type of events;
  • ceremony, cultural and catering needs;
  • indoor or outdoor preference;
  • approximate budget range;
  • services you already have.

This prevents an attractive starting price from being compared with a much more complete proposal.

Check what the venue package includes

Ask the venue to list the exact space, event duration, setup time, seating layout, menu, beverages, furniture, linen, service staff and basic audio included. Confirm minimum spend, service charges, taxes, overtime, corkage and outside-supplier fees separately.

For an outdoor event, request the weather alternative in writing. Confirm when the decision to move indoors is made and whether the backup space is held exclusively for your event.

Separate planning from venue services

A hotel coordinator usually manages the hotel’s own services. A wedding planner may handle the overall budget, design, supplier contracts, family schedule, guest communication, transport and multiple events. Ask who is responsible for each task so nothing is assumed by both teams.

Price décor and production properly

Photographs of a styled setup do not prove that the same stage, flowers, lighting or furniture are included. Request an itemised design proposal showing quantities, dimensions, materials, installation, dismantling and substitutions. Ask which visuals are inspiration and which represent the quoted specification.

Sound, screens, power, rigging, staging and entertainment can be major separate costs. Confirm venue approval and load-in rules before signing supplier contracts.

Plan the guest experience

Destination guests may need room blocks, airport transfers, local transport, welcome information, dietary support and a contact person during the stay. Decide which costs the couple will cover and communicate this clearly before guests book travel.

If guests are arriving from several countries, leave enough time for travel planning and document checks. A planner can coordinate logistics, but guests remain responsible for their own travel requirements unless the contract says otherwise.

Compare the total, not the headline

Create one table for every proposal with the same rows: venue, food and beverages, rooms, planning, décor, production, entertainment, photography, transport, permits, service charges, contingency and exclusions. Mark estimates separately from confirmed amounts.

The lowest starting package may not be the best value after mandatory extras. The useful question is: “What would we still need to buy to deliver the wedding described in our brief?”
