Check a wedding photography contract before paying the deposit
A clear contract connects the people attending, the hours covered, the files delivered and the rights each party has afterwards.
- Confirm the legal supplier name, assigned team, event dates, locations and coverage hours.
- List every photo, video, album and delivery milestone included in the fee.
- Record cancellation, replacement, equipment backup, privacy and image-usage terms.
Make the deliverables measurable
Avoid relying on words such as full coverage or edited gallery without definitions. Confirm formats, resolution, selection, retouching, preview timing, final delivery and how long files are stored.
Protect privacy and continuity
State whether suppliers may publish images and how restricted guests or ceremonies are handled. Ask who replaces the photographer if they are unavailable and how equipment or file failure is covered.
