Wedding Planner Costs in Dubai: Fees, Packages and Inclusions

Your wedding planner’s cost in Dubai depends on the work you need: full planning, help with selected tasks or coordination of an already-planned day. Ask for the professional fee separately from venue and supplier costs. This guide does not publish a market average because we do not have a verified, like-for-like set of current quotations.

How wedding planners charge in Dubai

Fixed planning fee

A planner may quote a fixed professional fee for an agreed scope. This is easier to compare when the proposal states the number of events, meetings, planning months and on-site team members.

Percentage of the wedding budget

Some planners charge a percentage of the managed event budget, sometimes with a minimum fee. Ask which costs are included in the percentage calculation and what happens if the budget changes.

Coordination or management fee

Couples who have already selected most suppliers may pay for final-stage coordination or on-day management. Confirm when the planner takes control, whether they review contracts and how many staff members attend each event.

Design or production fee

Creative direction, technical production, décor management or drawing work may be priced separately. Ask whether concepts, revisions, measurements, supplier supervision and setup are included.

What affects the quotation?

Planner fees commonly change with:

• the number and duration of wedding events;
• guest count and guest-travel needs;
• the planning period and amount of work already completed;
• venue complexity and number of locations;
• design, entertainment and technical production requirements;
• the number of suppliers and contracts to manage;
• travel outside Dubai or the UAE; and
• the size and experience of the on-site team.

A higher fee is not automatically better, and a lower fee may not be cheaper once exclusions are added. Compare responsibility, reporting and delivery resources.

What should a wedding planner package include?

A full-planning proposal may cover:

• planning meetings and a decision schedule;
• budget creation, tracking and payment reminders;
• venue search and site visits;
• supplier research, comparisons and coordination;
• design direction and production oversight;
• guest accommodation, transport or RSVP support;
• event timelines, floor plans and rehearsals;
• setup and breakdown supervision; and
• on-day management with a named team.

Packages vary. The words “full planning” do not guarantee that every item above is included.

Questions to ask before signing

1. Is the fee fixed, percentage-based or a combination?
2. Is VAT included, and which third-party costs are excluded?
3. Does the planner receive supplier commissions or markups, and how are they disclosed?
4. Who will be our lead planner and who attends each event?
5. How many meetings, concepts and design revisions are included?
6. Who holds supplier contracts and makes supplier payments?
7. What is the process for budget changes and approvals?
8. What are the postponement, cancellation and replacement-team terms?
9. Does the planner hold suitable business licences and insurance for the work?
10. What happens after the contracted hours end?

Compare quotations with a scope table

Create one row for every responsibility: venue, catering, décor, production, entertainment, photography, guest travel, RSVP, transport and on-day management. Mark each item as included, excluded or optional for every planner.

Also compare the proposed team and planning time. Two quotations can look similar while one includes months of supplier management and several on-site coordinators and the other covers only advice and a lead coordinator.

Budget comparison: professional fee + excluded services you need + applicable taxes and charges + your chosen contingency. Avoid counting a supplier cost twice if it is already included in the package. For percentage fees, ask for a worked calculation using your own provisional budget.

For example, a proposal that includes guest transfers should not be compared directly with one that leaves transport to you. Request the missing transport quote first. This is a comparison example, not a statement about a particular planner’s package or current price.

Prepare a brief that gets useful quotations

Share the following with each planner:

• preferred date or date range;
• estimated guest count;
• number and type of events;
• preferred emirate, venues or destination;
• realistic working budget range;
• cultural or religious requirements;
• accommodation and transport needs; and
• the three things that matter most to you.

If the budget is not final, be honest about the current range. A good first conversation should identify what is feasible, what needs prioritising and which costs sit outside the planner’s professional fee.

Do not choose a wedding planner from a starting price alone. Compare written scopes, speak with the person who will manage your wedding and check relevant recent work. The right proposal should make responsibility clear and give both sides a workable decision and payment process.
