Your outfit and pose are part of what makes a Mini You personal. A little preparation helps you arrive knowing what you want captured and what needs to be checked first.
This guide is for WeddingChamps’ scan-based Mini You service. You attend a scanning appointment. It is different from ordering a figurine designed from photographs.
Confirm the appointment details
Before making travel plans, agree where the scan will take place, who needs to attend and how long to allow for the whole appointment. Ask about any visit charges and accessibility requirements.
The capture itself is only part of the visit. Do not assume a short scan means the appointment, production and delivery will all be quick.
If you are enquiring for a couple or family, give the number of people and ask how their capture would be arranged. Do not assume everyone can be captured together in any pose.
Choose the outfit you want to remember
Think about what the figurine is meant to represent: a graduation, wedding outfit, work milestone or an everyday look you like. Tell the team what you plan to wear before the appointment.
Ask specifically about glasses, jewellery, reflective or transparent details, loose accessories and intricate fabric. The team should explain what its scanning and production process can accommodate. Do not rely on generic advice for a different scanning system.
If one detail matters most, mention it early. A small figurine may not show a fine pattern as clearly as a full-size photograph.
Discuss the pose before arriving
A pose should fit both the capture process and the way you want to display the finished piece. Ask what positions are practical and whether you need to remain still for the capture.
If you want to hold an object or include an accessory, describe it before the visit. Confirm any limitations rather than bringing an item and assuming it can be included.
Choose the display size with the result in mind
Decide where the figurine will sit. Measure the space if it is going on a shelf or in a display case. Ask for the finished dimensions, including the base, and look at examples from the scan-based service.
Use the scan-service size options in your quotation. The size chart and finishes listed on the photo-based product page belong to a different range.
Ask what happens after the scan
Before booking, confirm the payment arrangement, any review stage, processing and production schedule, delivery or collection, and what the quoted total includes.
If the gift must arrive for an event, give the date you need it in hand. A scanning appointment date is not a delivery date. Our figurine quote checklist helps you check the full order.

- Appointment location and attendance confirmed.
- Outfit, accessories and intended pose discussed.
- Desired display size checked against real examples.
- Capture, review and payment arrangements understood.
- Required arrival date and delivery destination agreed.
If attendance is not practical or the gift needs to remain a surprise, explore custom figurines from photos instead. Suitable pictures can start that enquiry, but they cannot replace a scan for the scan-based service.
