Confirm the RAK court arrangements, then plan the celebration
A resort booking, partner quote and court application are different commitments. Make sure you know what is confirmed and what is still provisional.

Ras Al Khaimah has a civil-marriage request service, but a resort wedding booking does not confirm eligibility for it. Check your circumstances with RAK Courts first, then coordinate the celebration and travel around the confirmed arrangements.

What does the official RAK service say?
The RAK Courts Civil Marriage Request service describes a civil route for a non-Muslim man and woman aged at least 21, subject to its other conditions. It lists identity and marital-status evidence and describes application, review and attendance before the judge, with virtual or in-person arrangements as specified.
The service page carries a February 2024 date and does not settle every visitor or residence-status question. Reconfirm its requirements and arrangements with RAK Courts before booking. Ask the court whether your exact circumstances fit; do not borrow Abu Dhabi’s tourist rules or assume a remote ceremony is automatically available.
Before booking, ask the court these questions
- Are both our nationalities, faiths and residence or visitor circumstances eligible?
- What documents do you need from each of us, in what language and format?
- What applies if either of us was previously married?
- Where must we be physically present, and for which stage?
- What is the application process and when is the appointment confirmed?
- Which official fees apply to our exact arrangement?
- How will we receive the certificate?
Record who answered and the date. If a partner submits the application, ask it to explain its role and provide the official requirements it is using.
Separate court costs from the wedding quote
Do not compare an official service fee with an all-inclusive wedding package as though they cover the same thing.

Confirm current fees directly before paying. Ask for cancellation and postponement terms from each contracted supplier; do not assume a package guarantees marriage approval.
Can we celebrate at a RAK resort afterwards?
You can plan a reception around your confirmed arrangements, subject to venue availability and policies. Decide whether you want a meal for a few guests, a private reception or a larger destination-wedding weekend.

Ask about guest transport, accessibility, room bookings, food, privacy, sound restrictions and an indoor alternative for outdoor plans. Check the exact space’s venue rules and put the answers in the venue contract.
What if we live elsewhere or will use the certificate abroad?
Check both questions before you book: whether RAK Courts can accept your application, and what the receiving authority abroad will need from the final certificate. A ceremony location and international document recognition are separate decisions.
